ABOUT
This is an opportunity to expand your creativity and connection to the world around you inclusive to all who are curious.
In this two-hour first of two part workshop, you'll delve into the universal language of the senses and explore ways to create immersive and interactive experiences. Explore how to capture the imagination through sensory stimuli and express the atmosphere of a place through your art. This workshop is suitable for anyone interested in theatre, art, and performance, from beginners to experienced practitioners.
Join interdisciplinary artist and performance maker Zya Kane for a unique exploration of sensory theatre and the theme of "a sense of place"
Mapping Memories: A Sensory Journey through Place and Time
In this sensory theatre workshop (the Second part of the workshop), participants will explore the connection between memory and place through sensory experiences. Using light and shadow, sound, and texture, participants will journey through their own memories and experiences of place. Through group activities and discussions, we will discover how our senses can transport us back to specific moments in time and place. Participants will leave with a heightened awareness of the power of sensory memory and a new toolkit for incorporating sensory elements into their own artistic practices.
