Memory-Go-Round 2021 - 1st Development

It’s a comforting, safe, curious, evocative, poetic way of being present in a living and breathing kind of art, with others who are experiencing and witnessing and connecting in their own way, but together as well.
— Audience Review #1
I enjoy being involved with sensory stimuli via a bunch of endearing familiar items. I would like more! I feel warm
fuzzies for being invited in to people’s intimate memories through my senses, the unifying effect of one shared item we are all experiencing with our myriad individual memories - Thank you x

ABOUT

Welcome to the Memory-Go-Round. We will take you into the memory stories of our artists; from the dressing room to Oliver Twist, through a moment in the car and a feeling in a memory church to the sense of a garden from 5 artists from the VALID/BANH and Yarra community.

We spent a period of 8 sessions sharing an exploration of storytelling and memory through a sensory theatre approach I have been developing over the past three years and finding ways to share and create individual story moments driven by the artists' memories and senses.

The project aims to create a multi-disciplinary, sensory installation & artist presentation where lesser-heard stories are woven and transformed into sensory stories where you, the audience are brought into the memory of the artists, through the connection with the senses.
