Malaka Art Fest 26 Aug - 1 Sep 2024

ABOUT

The theme for Melaka Arts and Performance Festival (MAP Fest) is ‘Traces of Transformation’, which speaks in direct correlation of a desire and universal need for performance work that speaks of regeneration through a rekindled past and traditional practice still passed down through generations. Boldly moving forward, capturing the imagination whilst harnessing the potentials offered up by both the collective and the individual.

It aims to take each individual thread, to then weave these into a tapestry of knowledge, colour and life. At MAP, artists present individual and collaborative works of art that incorporate the experimental. They produce on-site works and performances that are profound, empowering and transformative to the audiences.

RECOMMENDED ACCOMODATION

Prima hotel (booking site)
Google Map

Note: Prima Hotel is where most artists would stay, however there are many cheaper or more expensive hotels are available in Melaka. Please check the main venue of MAP Fest above, so you find an accommodation closer to the sites.

TRANSPORT FROM KUALA LUMPUR TO MELAKA & GRAB (CAR SHARE)

Redbus - Online booking

Note: If the flight delays, it is hard to get refund from the online ticket booking. There are plenty buses available during the day, and the bus terminal are attached to both KL terminal 1 and 2. You can simply buy the ticket over the counter. It usually takes 2 - 2.5 hours from the KL airport to Melaka Sentral (the bus stop). Melaka Sentral is situated 10 mins drive to the Melaka city, which you can travel by GRAB. Recommend downloading GRAB application on your phone as there is no UBER operating in Malaysia.
